WHY DID WE DEVELOP THE MIGHTY MARKER MOUNT™
A lawn is a terrible thing to waste. Year after year, snowplows, misguided cars and even the mail truck ruin the lawn in front of our house. It’s a never ending problem. Being home owners, we’ve tried dozens of ways to prevent this problem. One of best ways to prevent this damage is to install driveway markers in front of our house. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong.
Driveway markers are a pain to install. Whether the ground is frozen or filled with rocks and gravel, it’s never easy to securely install a driveway marker. Unless you’re lucky enough to have perfect ground conditions, you need to drive the driveway markers into the ground with a hammer. Once again, this is no easy task. Most driveway markers are constructed of thin rods of plastic or fiberglass. Neither of these materials reacts well to being hit with a hammer. A common outcome is deformed, degraded, splintered, bent and/or broken driveway markers.
NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION
A common method to SECURELY install a driveway marker is to drive some sort of rigid stabilizing bar into the ground. The driveway marker is then attached to the bar with a fastening material (e.g. duct tape, plastic tie wraps, rope, metal hose clamps, etc.). In addition to the extra work and expense, most “homemade” solutions look TERRIBLE (see below). Personally, we were tired of seeing a row of rusted pipes, duct tape and bent reflectors in front of our house.
THERE’S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY
With a goal of protecting our lawn, we wanted an easier, more effective and better looking way to securely install driveway markers. We wanted a solution that’s:
- Rugged and durable
- Designed to look great
- Eliminates “homemade” solutions
- Useful year round
- Cost effective
